Subsections 18.1.1, 18.1.2 of Article 18 and subsection 29.6.4 of Article 29 of the Law on the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia outline the following functions within the framework of its inspection:

• To conduct inquiries at the commissioner’s own initiative on the basis of complaints and information with regard to violations of human rights and freedoms or at the request of citizens, organizations, officials, and legal entities;

• Monitor the implementation of the directives and recommendations delivered following the inquiry and take measures to ensure proper application.

• Maintain personal files on organizations that are the subject of Commission inquiries and keep the information up to date.
